Snowshoe day 3

Poor Roxy had a messed up stomach and woke us up multiple times to go outside. So the morning was rough. After breakfast I took an hour nap which helped :)
Mom and Justin took off again to explore more of the slopes and Dad and I signed up for a wine and design. We left Cooper in the bedroom and crossed our fingers he would be good (which he was!!!!).
The class was very small. Only 4 people but it was very fun! He had us start from scratch and just helped us through hard places.

We did pretty good didn't we? It was so much fun and I want to do another one soon.

Mom and Justin came back right as we did and after taking the dogs out we lounged around. We decided not to go tubing- too tired. When they dropped off their rentals we rummaged around the store connected to it- Justin getting his t-shirt which he gets from every place we visit and I got a Christmas ornament :)

We walked the dogs to the village and back and then settled down for an early bed time.

All in all the trip was amazing! I really thought I would get bored but I didn't! Justin really enjoyed skiing - he misses going regularly out west. It was fun to be so un-plugged and without responsibilities. Having the dogs was a blast! We think we will make this a regular trip. A weekend trip is a great length- enough to be refreshed but not long enough to get homesick. And it's an easy length of time to find a farm sitter!

Snowshoe day 2

Aahhhhhh.....vacation! The day started gloriously with a huge breakfast. Mom and justin got their ski equipment and lift tickets. I was worried I would get bored but Andrew and hour of reading and an hour of watching German Antiques Road Show we took a hour long walk with the dogs. Roxy slept through the walk and was still in the same spot when we got home :)
Thank goodness we found a grassy spot for Roxy to do her business!

We walked to the top of the village which looked like this :

We got a good cup of coffee from Starbucks. Let me tell you when you are used to espresso in the morning regular coffee does nothing to wake you up! I can drink 10 cups and still not feel that zing that I do from my cup of coffee. Mom and Justin skies for 4-5 hours and we're back after we got done with our walk with the dogs!
Justin then took a nap and mom and I walked back up. Had to get my 10,000 steps in!
After a yummy dinner of spaghetti we taught mom and dad how to play Bang!
Tomorrow another fun filled day of dog walking and skiing

Snowshoe day 1

We packed up the dogs and the car to the rim and headed down to Snowshoe early afternoon Thursday. We found out that the nearest grocery store was 1/2 hour away so we just packed everything. Cooper was a doll and slept peacefully the whole trip on a bed on the very top of the stuff!

We had a good drive up and ate dinner at Cracker Barrel. After that we let the worries of work and life melt away as we drove up the mountain - the laughing started and we had a great drive. I don't think we have taken a family trip since before we got married and I realize now how much I have missed it.

I decided this year that even if we just get away for the weekend to not let a longer drive or more expensive weekend scare me away from getting out and seeing and experiencing things! It's hard with our schedules and the farm to take a week so the 3 day weekend will be our new vacation :)

When we got to the condo we were all pleasantly surprised. It was mega upgraded from the pictures and is very nice and comfy! The dogs went on a potty walk before their dinner- Roxy luckily finding some grass within the snow to do her business.

When we got back in Justin dug out their Nintendo 64 and the 007 game. I was taught quickly how to play and then got my butt beat. So I promptly gave it over to Dad :)
After a glass of wine we were all ready to hit the sack. Justin and mom will get up early to get their rentals while I cook breakfast. I will NOT be skiing this trip! Books, relaxation, and dog walking will be my weekend!
